The Art of Self Massage

If you have never done this, I invite you to! I have seen people melt away on my massage table over the years and for so long, I would encourage them to do self massage at home but if I am honest, it took me years before I did it myself! It transforms you! It takes love to the next level because we rarely connect with ourselves in a way that matters. Start by placing a towel on the floor (usually in your bedroom or bathroom unless you live alone). Grab your favorite essential oils and carrier oil. Warm your carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil, sesame oil or olive oil, etc) in a pot and pour into a cup or dish. I also place my cup of oil in a bowl of hot water to keep it warm during my massage. Turn on your favorite music to relax to or play a meditation. Light some candles or turn on your diffuser. Remove all your clothes. Then starting with your face, head and neck, massage the oil into your skin. As you move down your body, add your essential oils to your hands with the carrier and slowly and intentionally massage your chest, each arm, your abdomen, back, hips, thighs and down each leg to your feet. Take your time. Say loving things to each body part and really appreciate them. Feel unwanted thoughts, stresses and heaviness melt away. Breathe! You may laugh, giggle, smile or cry ...whatever comes up, feel it! When your massage is complete, take a warm bath, shower or steam.

Below are some of my favorite oils to incorporate in my massage, but please choose the ones you are most drawn to or use this Love Yourself Blend!

I use: Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Geranium, Pink Pepper, Magnolia or Grapefruit

Love Yourself Blend:10 drops ylang ylang, 5 drops sandalwood, 5 drops clary sage, 2 drops rose, 2 drops grapefruit. Make into a bottle or roller and fill the rest with fractionated coconut oil.
